Newbie Q: slight tilt in PVM's black border, picture ok tho

Post by willinliv »

Hi All,

Apologies - newbie and not knowledgable at all about CRT tech.

I have recently bought a Sony PVM 9042QM from a supplier on ebay selling old broadcast equipment, for use with a zx81 and retropie setup. I'm very happy with it, but I have just noticed that whilst the picture looks pretty straight (I need to test with a test pattern), the overall black 'frame' of the crt looks to be slanting or tilted a few degrees anti-clockwise. I have tried to take a pic to explain if that helps. It looks like on the verticals left and right side the pixels (or whatever they are on CRT) are aligned to the slightly tilted pic, but along the top there are king of extra lines of pixels on the right hand side top than left (even though the line of text underneath looks straight). Any ideas?

This being a smaller PVM there are no on screen controls. I have seen a youtube video about rotating the yoke slightly. I am reasonably happy with it at the moment, but is it a simple fix?

Thanks very much for putting up with this, Will
