Xbox 360 horizontal shmups that fill a 4:3 screen in 480p

Post by andykara2003 »

Bit of a niche question, but I'm looking for a couple of great looking horizontal old school-looking arcade style Xbox 360 shmups with a pretty attract mode that'll fill a 4:3 screen in 480p or ideally 1024x768 for my NEC XV29+ via VGA. The reasons are that:

I prefer horizontal shmups for some reason
I would like the screen to be filled
I'm looking for a very pretty game with a nice attract mode to go with the rest of my gaming room
I need 480p or 1024x768 as those are supported by the NEC and 800x600 isn't an available Xbox 360 VGA resolutions as far as I can tell.
An option for 1024x768 would be amazing as it'd show off the full resolution of the monitor.
I know very little about shmups, so would value the opinions of the experts here.

Cheers!

Looks like Akai Katana has a 480P mode, so that might fit the bill.

Thanks for that :) Huge apologies to anyone who stumbles across this; I’ve decided not to go with the 360 shmups now, it’s time I stopped the incessant collecting and started playing my overgrown collection!

1024x768 is a selectable resolution for VGA output on 360. The original DeathSmiles has a 4:3 display mode. I think nearly all of the other horizontal shmups use a 16:9 display. I don't remember if G.Rev ever added true 4:3 to Strania.
