N64 RGB Heuristic Delay Problem? (Borti's N64RGBv1 board)

Post by maverickgunn »

Hey all, I added Arthrimus's 3.3v variant of Borti's N64RGBv1 board to my Nintendo 64, and it's working great. The IGR's work and the video quality is excellent.

However, I've noticed an issue and want to see if it's normal or not. When the heuristic for deblur is detecting a signal which should disable the deblur - such as for Goldeneye 007 - there is a delay before this actually happens. It's usually a couple seconds on game start and then the video signal will "pop" the deblur off and things look correct.

Is this delay normal? For some reason I thought the heuristic should be so fast as to be unnoticeable. Borti or Arthrimus or someone else, could you confirm?
