Info on the net seems to be all over the place, and inconsistent. So hoping for some first-hand experiences. I've owned a D20 and a D24 in the past, but not an A series of any size.
Given you don't have the RGB card, is it possible to get RGB/Component into it at 720p via OSSC and HDMI-> HD-SDI converter?
How's your picture?
How's the lag?

You will need a secondary processor to normalize your timings. Both the converters and the HD-SDI inputs on the BVMs are very picky when it comes to off-spec timings.
The secondary processor doesn't have to re-scale or do anything except to output a standard timing.
OSSC > Extron 301 > HD-SDI Converter > A-series BVM works like a charm.
If you sit very close the scanline structure will be slightly different from a true 240p image, but overall VERY playable. Exactly one frame of lag through the whole chain (while there are PROBABLY are HDMI to HD-SDI converters that add lag, the majority should not).
Bonus feature with the setup is that you upscale can your 480p sources to 960p and have the Extron downscale them to 720p. This solves the problem of HD-SDI not supporting 480p either.

Thank you Fudoh!
Seals the deal, I'm going to see if I can't snag this monitor then. A couple extra boxes is worth the savings over a D series for sure.
Is there a particular HD-SDI converter you'd recommend?

I had the BMD and the BMD Mini ones on hand, but I guess that the cheapest chinese unit from ebay will perform exactly the same.Is there a particular HD-SDI converter you'd recommend?
