Raiden Fighters Evolution (Xbox) - any news on a release?

This game was announced 3 years ago and I can't seem to find much else on it. It'd be nice to have another good shmup to play on my xbox.

The company apparently went under. The game was supposed to include a Live element in addition to regular gameplay. *-neo

Cancelled a long time ago unfortunately.

The company that was going to release it is apparently no longer around as neo said.

Since Seibu are apparently still around (as part of Moss) maybe someone should pester them into porting the RF trilogy to PS2. Mmmm...

With Taito being Raiden III's publisher, I'd say the RF series has a better chance of finding home ports. At least I hope. A Raiden Fighters Trilogy pack would be perfect.

地球を植民地にするために、外宇宙から飛来してきた未知の侵略部隊の作戦は、
地球側の２度にわたる最新鋭機「雷電」を投入した大規模な迎撃により失敗に終わった。

戦力の大半を失った敵部隊は後退を余儀なくされ、事実上、地球側の勝利で休戦を
迎え、再び平和の日々が訪れようとしていた。
この戦争で味方に見放され、捕虜となった敵兵も数多くいた。

彼らの話によると彼らの惑星では、過去に５度の世界大戦が勃発し、
２大勢力の長期にわたる戦闘が続いていた。
そのため、自然環境が悪化し、彼らは植民地を求めて宇宙に旅立つものと
母星に残留するものに分かれたらしい。

外宇宙に出たものたちは、やがて緑の星－地球－に目を付けた…。
そんな彼らは、「雷電」のことを<悪夢>と呼んだ。どうやら過去の対戦で反乱軍が使用した、高性能戦闘機部隊の再来を意味しているようだ。

これから始まるストーリーは、今から約２世紀以前に、彼らの惑星で活躍した
反乱軍の戦闘機動部隊の戦記である。
