Pinball Arcade tables being delisted June 30th

Official Announcement. (WMS)

Our longstanding licenses for the Williams and Bally pinball trademarks will finally come to an end on June 30th, 2018. Therefore, after this date tables from these manufacturers will no longer be offered for sale within the Pinball Arcade. However, customers who purchased any of these tables prior to the deadline will continue to own them and have access to them within the Pinball Arcade, and we will continue to support them as we do the other tables in our collection. This change will affect all of our devices and platforms.

So if you’ve ever been interested in owning these great tables, please purchase them now, before they disappear!

FarSight will continue to release new tables for the Pinball Arcade. We are excited to announce that Season 8 will launch later this summer and will feature all of the recent Stern tables in Stern Pinball Arcade along with several new tables.

We’d like to sincerely thank all of our customers and fans over the past decade. Your amazing support of our game has helped build the Pinball Arcade into the greatest pinball simulation of all time. Pinball forever!
So that's pretty bad, grab them now if you want them. Or maybe them being delisted is a reminder of how fleeting online games are and maybe stick to the games which have had physical releases (Pinball Arcade has had very few of those, sadly).

Or just use Visual Pinball X simulations, since it has (way) better physics anyway.

Nah, VPX is good, but it's not nearly as good. The basic framework behind VP doesn't really do what FarSight does. Future Pinball actually does, but very few people work on that because it's a lot more difficult; that's the tradeoff. FP's basically dead nowadays, lol.

Pinball Arcade's physics model is just crap. There's a lot of parts where it just scripts where the ball moves automatically (up ramps and such), because they can't get it working otherwise. Unless that's your idea of better ..

VPX and Pro Pinball Ultra wipe the floor with anything FarSight has come up with. Future Pinball's latest iteration (2.7) isn't that bad but still not up to VPX.

VPX is a pain to set up and I can't use it on my Xbox One or PS4.

It used to be worse (I used to test it), and it took them forever to update the older tables. Still frustrating how some tables were made to be too generous with the outlanes compared to the originals and others are just the opposite.

I'm newbie casual who only played real hardware pinball once in my life. Anyway i pretty much enjoy both Hall of Fame games on my PSP  (aside from nudging - either it's useless there or i cant do it properly, but i never could use it to affect ball trajectory, so when ball goes between flippers or other bad scenarios, it's gone) My friend has only Gottlieb on Vita and he wants to get Williams there too, so he is concerned if it will be pulled of from PSN too, or only Pinball Arcade is victim.

*that being said, i have pinball pro ultra timeshock and zaccharia on PC, and i guess they are better, but i enjoy more just booting HoF games on handheld, and "primitive graphics" are less confusing that uberrealistic ones.

Just a reminder about this. I bought seasons 1&2 in case I ever wanted to play some pinball on my Vita. I currently don't have space for it though.
