SONY BVM-14G5E issue
Hello, i got recently a BVM-14G5E but when I put it on from the main button on the back. I have only a Standby light on, and the Power light is blinking. I've found absolutely nothing on internet about that...
Just previously the BVM was working absolutely fine, I've hold the power button for maybe too long and it turned on standby. I've put it off by main power, but when I turned it ON just a bit later, i had three lights blinking (overload/Standby/power) at the same time with nothing happening (just the degauss noise when I tap the power button). I though i had a bad contact on my cards so i've slowly put them out and in. After I retried again. I got a little degauss clic, and only standby light is ON and the Power light is blinking. All the buttons are not doin anything anymore...
Does anybody have an idea about what to do ? I do not found anything about Sony bvm error codes to fix the problem :/

Re: SONY BVM-14G5E issue
ok I just put out all boards to check them, nothing seems dead... Everything is in again, and i'm back to the previous error :
Standby is ON and blinking two times, it switches to power, and i head a "ding" inside before all the 3 leds "power, standby and overload" are blinking at the same timing and it never stops. Also if i tap on the power button on the front of the monitor it swiches to standby or power light, and when its on power light its doin "ding" again and back to 3 leds blinking.
please help :'(

Re: SONY BVM-14G5E issue
yeah sent them over to pat to recap all 3 boards that he could. The only board that could be bad for me is the one with the programming on it (the one the remote plugs into). unfortunately for me its a 32 inch soooo threes not an abundance of that card since its made just for that monitor, so pat cant do anything for me for that card since he cant flush the maybe very maybe it has bad corrupt code. If you find out ures is that issue let me know I think i can get sony to reprogram mine but id have to pay like 500 usd to probally do it. where as u could probally snag a replacement, or see if u have some1 in the area that has your model that can swap cards to see if thats the issue. heres hoping!!! GL I am gonna try disabling everything and reassembling everything this weekend. to see if something is just not right.

so you're 100% sure that Deflection board and alimentation are fully functional ? Because if the problem come from the remote board it would be different for fixing it.
I'm gonna try to swap each card with some from a 14G1. A very nice guy is gonna send me each one in fiew days. I will let you know when i got them if something changes

Re: SONY BVM-14G5E issue
Mine are pat tested them on an A24 before he shipped them back. So I am taking his word that 1 they "should" be working as well as they were not dmged in shipping. Unfortunately i have no way to completely verify that is the case though. Let me know tour findings. I might have to rule that my tube is toast which would suck for a 32.

Why would you remove it when you could just meter it? Not knowing the values to begin with wouldn't help, i suppose.

Re: SONY BVM-14G5E issue
Be sure you have exhausted EVERY other possable alternative before doing this as your whole convergence/ everything will need recalibrating.
Its as simple as loosening the tube neck screws, sliding off the yolk and looking at a heap of burnt copper.
Last resort!!!!

Re: SONY BVM-14G5E issue
I have preaty much exhausted for me at least every other possibility that is not 1000 dollars or more for me to fix and or find. So burnt copper means it is rip and good copper means its still good? Ty for the help just didnt have the heart to strip a a32 for parts would really love to try to get it to work.

Update !
I recieved today the 3 spare cards that I suspected to be dead on my BVM. First card changed, success. It was the alimentation card who had a problem aparently.
I'll investigate in the future to understand from what the issue came on the Alimentation card.
