I've been looking for this game. But why is it called "S.T.G."? I tried googling this but didn't really get anything. Any more info on this game?

The STG version for the Tiny Arcade runs at a silky smooth 60fps framerate (which is a special exception rather than the norm on the Tiny Arcade platform) -- even though all the other homebrews that have been released for it in the past run at 30fps at best. The latest version of Tiny Arcade STG port (at version 1.01) has four difficulty settings to choose from before starting a serious STG session. Gotta love the sly reference/nod to Taito's classic Darius STG before facing off with an end-stage boss on any given stage. If you get a high score and return back to the main title screen after the continue countdown screen runs it's course, your highest score will be automatically saved for posterity to the inserted micro SDHC card (even if the Tiny Arcade is turned off/powered down for the night). How cool is that? Even your hitbox is quite tiny, it's the tiny red square/pixel within your fightercraft -- if a bullet skims quite close to it but doesn't hit, you won't die.

The unnamed pilot in the Tiny Arcade port of STG would be the player himself/herself respectively.

There is a hidden fps frame counter but it's disabled during a normal STG playing session on the Tiny Arcade port -- a hidden secret input command brings it up for display shown between your current score and the high score. Despite the hardware limitations of the Tiny Arcade setup running Arduino, the STG port truly shines and is quite a cool lil' shmup in it's own right -- reminiscent of the classic Raiden STG of lore and it's ilk.

I like how the Tiny Arcade uses an OLED screen setup at 96 x 64 resolution and can even play FMV clips or even ripped DVDs (converted beforehand and run through a Tiny Arcade video conversion program) d/l from this link: http://daimonsoft.info/kuran_kuran/inde ... A%EE%C0%AE (using TSVTool.exe version 1.03)

Just for kicks, I was able to upload video files of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Rogue One, Akira, the Tron Legacy light cycle scene and a few others to the Tiny Arcade platform (via micro SDHC card). Playing anime fmv clips truly shines on the Tiny Arcade indeed.

Here's another cool shmuppy game in the works for the Tiny Arcade called MicroVektoRoids (looks like a port of Cinematronics' Space Wars with some cool new wrinkles added in to make it a different STG altogether): http://forum.tinycircuits.com/index.php?topic=1860.0 Is being developed by Eike Decker, the same guy whom coded/released Tiny Shooter (a homage to the classic Irem's R-Type STG) for the Tiny Arcade platform as well.

Yes. This game honestly caught my eye in 2006, and I've been looking for it everywhere. As I posted, it reminds me of Strike Gunner S.T.G. and Raiden.

Tiny Arcade STG Easter Egg Trick: On the Tiny Arcade port of STG, by simply pushing the micro 8-way digital joystick up during the main title screen will bring up the "hidden" fps counter if so desired. Press up on the STG main title screen again to turn it off. Easy as pie.

A very nice young lady who completed several later sorties with distinction, attaining the rank of brigade commander, before dying in a tragic lawnmower accident aboard terraforming colony Ignis VI.
