Hi all,
I'm new to capture cards but was recommended to pick up the Startech USB3HDCAP as it captures everything I need it to do (s-video, component, hdmi)
I'm able to successfully capture footage from my CRT through its outputs via component cables, however, the quality is very bad and looks nothing like what it does on my CRT. The feedback I received was that I should get a distribution amplifier to split the video signal before the capture card. Will this improve quality?
I'm running this through OBS Studio via component and I've been having issues with quality on PS1 games. Please see screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/0LIZK
I have the resolution set to 320x240 and I tried other resolutions but it looks really bad. Any suggestions on what can be done here?

Hello
I have just posted my settings for the driver of my USB3HDCAP plus my Amarec settings in the "Micomsoft XCAPTURE-1 USB 3.0 Capture Unit" thread, maybe that will help you
I don't know for the distibution amplifier part though
Right off the bat I can suggest that you use 720x240 resolution for capture (well at least that's what I use and it works great *shrugs* and it seems to be what other people use, too. I guess it's worth giving a shot)

Hi!
Sorry to bump this so late, but I've been having an issue with this card that I can't seem to sort out. When I try to record Composite, the "Output Color Range" is stuck on Bypass. When I tried to set it to Expand it immediately went back to Bypass. I tried to install the modified Micomsoft drivers I found in another thread, but I'm getting a similar issue where I'll set it to Expand and click "OK" and it will immediately default me back to Bypass.
I've managed to get it on Expand while recording Composite before, but it's very picky and I don't know how it happened. Any ideas?
