best tv shows ever

Post by professor ganson »

probably good to mention which country you're in, if it's not obvious

My first thoughts:

Twin Peaks
Simpsons
Seinfeld

Pretty obvious choices, I guess.
Oh yeah, I'll add: Monday Night Football

I would have said Simpsons ten years ago. While I do think these new episodes are way better than the stuff from 2001-2004, even they aren't as good as the older ones

Anyways:
Fullmetal Alchemist
Harvey Birdman
House
Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (butchered Takashi's Castle)

Are what I watch most of the time. This new season of South Park kinda sucks, so far.

All British stuff, im not a fan of usa shows. Everybody loves raymond = AGH!!!!!

Faulty Towers
Alan Partridge
Red Dwarf
Young Ones
Bottom
The Office
Game On (series 1)
Peter Kay's stuff
Spaced
............

I cant imagine what life would've been like without these shows. I find myself spending more time watch comedy stuff than playing videogames these days, less stressful too. :)

PaCrappa -- you are nuts. The A-Team. A bunch of Vietnam vets wanted for war crimes, that anyone can get in touch with (except the authorities) that can't hit a person w/ a fully automatic machine gun. :?: :?:

My all time favorites:

Twin Peaks
Simpsons -- at it's Pinnacle, the smartest comedy in TV history
Seinfeld
X-Files

Of the recent stuff:
Lost is excellent, and I've just gotten into Prison Break which isn't bad. Most seasons of 24, while far fetched, are entertaining. And how can I not mention Chapelle's Show?

US here:

Are you Being Served?
A-Team
Babylon 5
Batman: The Animated Series
Black Adder
Dr. Who
EXO Squad
Fawlty Towers
The Fugitive
Homicide
Liquid Television
Magnum PI
NYPD Blue
Police Squad!
Rockford Files
Space: Above and Beyond
The Shield
Star Trek original series
Young Ones

These are the tv shows I could watch all day and never get bored.

TV sucks so much today. Looking at my list only ONE of those shows is actually a current series that isn't in syndication.

A Liquid Television fan! Awesome!

The only thing you can get are these shitty "best of" compilations. There's two volumes. I guess licensing issues prevent the whole thing from happening. Maybe look around the bit torrents, someone HAS to have these somewhere. Even the shorts where they would just take a clip from Iria or some other anime and put in their own made up dialogue is better than ninety percent of the crap that's on tv today. Stick Figure Theater >>>>>>>>>>>> any reality show.

Was The Head ever released on DVD? The series was atrocious but the mini-series from MTV Oddities was beyond awesome. Same with The Maxx.

Other than sports I hardly watch anything nowadays, but I loved the A-Team, need to one day search for DVD's if they have them.

Otherwise I'll go to a friends and we'll watch G.I. Joe, Transformers, or he'll watch Buffy and I'll snooze.

The A-Team

They drive a van in every episode that is very distinctive. BA stands out like like a sore thumb.

I like British shows since I'm British.

Red Dwarf
Boys Behaving badly
Only Fools and Horses
Father Ted (Love father maguire he's hilarious)
The office

On the USA side I like -

Roseanne
Cheers
Married with Children
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
