OK, so I want the recent M2 shmups on PS4. I can't believe Dimahoo and Dangun Feveron are finally on console! Anyway, here's my concern...
I know you have to go on the Japanese PSN Store to buy them. Making a Japanese account is said to be easy, as is buying a digital code to download the games. However...
I hear that if I buy them with a new PSN account/profile created specifically to buy these games, I can only play them on said account. Is this true?
Is my only option on PS4 to play them on a whole new (Japanese) account?!
More importantly, I want to play these games with my primary account (not Japanese) for trophies and PlayStation Plus. Is it even possible? What should I do? I would just get the Xbox One versions, but a few aren't listed, and one still hasn't even come out! Only Battle Garegga, and I'll get it, but the other ones have no Xbox One release date on the horizon from what I've seen...
Help!
Question about obtaining JPN PS4 shmups on PSN.
Re: Question about obtaining JPN PS4 shmups on PSN.
You can play them with your primary account. Just download them using your JP account.
You may have to set that PS4 as the JP accounts "main" console, I can't remember. It's certainly possible to play this way, since it's the only way I've been playing all of these ports.

Really? Thank you for the speedy reply. I want these guys to get my money because I appreciate all they're doing, but I don't want there to be any problems in the process.
I heard the method you mentioned results in profiles being "deactivated" or "banned" for months. Is it true?
I used a similar method to what you mentioned back in the Xbox 360 days, but the rumblings in the underground got me spooked...

Create JPN account, buy PSN credit from somewhere like Play Asia, buy game, log out of JPN account, play on regular account. It's that easy. If you set up the account on the console it will already be considered your "main" console.
I've been doing it on the PS3 and PS4 for years and no trouble.BAD wrote:I heard the method you mentioned results in profiles being "deactivated" or "banned" for months. Is it true?

FYI, Dimahoo is not Mahou Daisakusen.

Wait, it's not? Ah, is it the first game in the series or something? Can't believe I missed this one!
Either way, instant buy. No way I can ever skip on an Eighting/Raizing or Cave shooter.

Dimahoo is Great Mahou Daisakusen. Sorcer Striker is the first MD.WarpZone wrote:FYI, Dimahoo is not Mahou Daisakusen.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
Re: Question about obtaining JPN PS4 shmups on PSN.
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your confidence and clarification on my questions. This is one of the few series that have evaded me over the years, and I've only seen and played Dimahoo once in the wild. Of course, it wasn't for sale, it's long gone, and I doubt it's even in the same state, anymore. So many things I loved about it when I played it, and I pray every year that it comes to a consumer machine like Sorcer Striker has.
I love CPSII games, but I've always collected them on the consumer machines (3DO, PS, SS, DC, etc.). It's what I prefer, due to its simplicity. I don't like dealing with all the wires and all that shit. Anyway, I have been close to getting the Dimahoo and Progear arcade versions. What is the lowest we've seen these two games get? Are they always in the 500 USD range, or have they fluctuated?
