Game Gear just shows solid color screen on cold boot.

My Game Gear is being kinda weird.

When you first turn it on it just shows a solid color screen (yellow green blue or red)

If you turn it off then on real quick it runs fine.

Sometimes it starts fine on cold starts.. At first I though it was a dirty cartridge but no.

Any ideas?
I thought maybe the psu on the gg is a bit crappy, outputs 4.85 on 5v and a touch over 1.14 on the 1.3v rail

Been recapped and thoroughly looked over.
Running an ebay TFT screen with one of Tims GGTV boards.

I know its an issue that has happened to others, and that changing the PSU will not fix it.

Does the same on batteries or mains.

Weird. I still check the cart connectors again. If you wiggle the cart can you get a game to freeze?
