Buy a couple bookshelf speakers. Even just peruse craigslist for people selling speakers and receivers. The games we are playing are too cool to skimp on the sound side of the equation.

What test have you done to verify that the speaker is dead? Looks like your model has 5w speakers which are good but not great. Some of the bigger higher end tv's had at least 10w which sound great. An upgrade to bookshelf speakers might be worth it to you.

Not sure what you're asking here exactly, but the idea is that you run audio directly from your console to the receiver (or speakers if they're self-powered). Or if your TV has an "audio-out" on the back, you can run that to the receiver instead.

I've picked up all my stuff from craigslist or goodwill. I just looked at speakers on craigslist, then searched for the model number on AudioKarma.org, which has a ton of audio enthusiasts. Usually you'll find a thread or two talking about your speakers and whether they're decent. I did have to re-cap a set of speakers from the 70's to get them to sound good again, so you might not want to get anything that old if you want to keep it simple. I have another set of speakers from the 80's that sounds fine without a re-cap.

There is simply no sound on the right side of the TV.

Those will work fine- and will be a million times better than the tv speakers. Those are powered speakers, meaning they have a built in amp- so no external amp is needed with these. But, it also depends on your setup.... You have pictures of the inputs and outputs on the back of the tv? And how are you hooking the consoles up?

Also, if you plan on putting speakers within a couple feet of your CRT, make sure they're magnetically shielded.

It has 3 composite hookups, a component hookup, and an S video hookup. I'll probably use a component switcher for the consoles. So I have enough hookups right?

Are those little Mackie speakers I posted shielded? I was going to put them on each side of the TV.

Don't know about them, but I know these are. They also have bluetooth connectivity and optical/coaxial inputs, and come with a remote. Totally worth $30 more over those Mackies imho.

well, you need amplified speakers. might need an adapter cable to hook Them up too.

I believe most audio outs on TVS are Rca jacks, and the speakers probably have a 3.5mm stereo plug on them.

a good set of stereo pc speakers will do.

You just hook up the red and white RCA cables to the master speaker, and then run speaker wire to the other speaker. It probably comes included with the speakers.
