I wish you all the best in trying to lear what is certainly one of the hardest shmup ever.

If you keep on playing that red ship, I'd say definitely use its laser most of the time, and only switch to shot when screen is filled with popcorn that need to be killed asap.
Also, bombing is utterly important to surviving longer. When no bombs are left, and only in this case, the time to be a hero begins.

I will try use laser more then shot. Red ship have only 1-2 bombs. It's very dangerous)

even in donpachi, 2-all in several months is pretty fast, but this one is supposed to be the hardest ddp game to 2-all, isn't it?

it should be the other way
there is no point in using the narrow and slow option when things die in 1 hit anyways
even big enemies die to the shot pretty fast

You're right about DOJ, the shot on the red ship is pretty strong indeed.

According to that JP difficulty wiki, it's the hardest shmup, period. I agree with that if you want to score well, but not sure about a survival clear.

There are a couple things that wiki omits, such as defeating Inbachi in SDOJ (which nobody has done so far other than one run of questionable legitimacy on the 360 leaderboards), and multi-loop clears of infinitely-looping games, but it's definitely up there as one of the hardest clears. To put things in perspective, only five or so people had gotten the full 2-ALL a year after release. People have an advantage nowadays due to the ability to savestate practice (or use one of the ports' practice options), but expect to spend a couple hundred hours at least. I think Pazzy spent time in that range on DOJ, but then again he was also scoring.

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.

I did quite a bit of streaming last year on DOJ, it took me 66 hours of playing to get the 1-ALL, was satisfied with that as I've always felt it wasn't a game I'd ever get anywhere on.

Nice to see someone else streaming this game!
