Picture issue when capturing nes-gameplay from crt

Post by nttn »

Hey guys!

New to the forum, was recommended to go here for solutions to any kind of tech-issues i might have :p

I recently got my ntsc-nes rgb-modded, and together with my newly picked up bang olufsen mx7000 it just looks awesome. So awesome that i wanted to try capturing some gameplay/stream on twitch. I spoke to a couple of people how to go about doing this and they recommended a scart splitter (got one from shinybow), a scart-hdmi upscaler (got one from deltaco) and the el gato gaming capture (borrowing the hd60 from a friend).

This setup does work, however the problem is that i get this weird discoloration. Like waves showing up during screen-transitions, shadows on sprites and just plain wrong colors. Here is a short clip if anyone would like to see what i mean: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/123219552 The footage doesnt look that awful on my pc, but on the actual tv-screen its much worse.

So, i was just wondering if anyone had any theory to what might be causing these strange colors? Bad cables, ac adapters, upscaler or the el-gato? Grateful for answers :)

Thanks,
Nicke
