Any good stores in San Antonio, Texas? When I say store, I mean in terms of games, anime or heavy metal music. Thanks.

Well, as far as finding heavy metal music, I can highly recommend Hogwild records, on North Main. It's just a little ways north of downtown, and I spent tons of my youth hanging out there. They've got a great selection of punk rock and other underground goodies there as well.

There was also a nifty shop called Sound of Music, just a little ways away from Rivercenter Mall downtown, but I've no idea if it's still around or not (I've been living in Austin for twelve years and am more than a bit out of the loop).

As far as games go, I'm afraid you're out of luck. I went down there specifically on a game finding mission a couple of years ago, and all I could find was an overpriced copy of TF Gold Pack 1 at the North Star Mall location of Gamefellas. :?

I'm really not sure about anime, but you may want to try out the San Antonio location of Dragon's Lair. Their Austin store is well stocked, and I assume their SA location is too...

I can totally agree with Hogwild Records. Those guys are great if a little too pretentious. Don't go near the Northstar Mall location of Gamefellas. Not only do these guys not even test their products but they get a little testy when you ask for a refund for nonworking merchandise. If you are afraid you might need a refund, get it in writing.

The last time I went there, they sold me a nonworking ASCII pad after they assured me it worked. They not only refused to give me a refund, they tried to charge me a "restocking" fee. Of course after I yelled about the situation which actually disturbed some customers enough to leave, they gave me a full refund. It was a close call though and I doubt I'll shop there again. Everything is horribly overpriced too.
