Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Ho man Fortress, the film that exposed me to be Christopher Lambert's ballsack and scarred my youthful brain for life.

Maaan, I haven't seen The Running Man since I was about 8 years old. Back then that thing was the future. Now it looks so endearingly cheap and 80s.

It was cheap and 80s already in the 80s. Still awesome though, in that funny bad way. Stephen King must have had quite a laugh. Adaptations of his work can often be quite ludicrous but this one really took the cake. It's like they took a big dump on the book on purpose.Tregard wrote:Maaan, I haven't seen The Running Man since I was about 8 years old. Back then that thing was the future. Written under his Richard Bachman pseudonym, specifically. Beware the "Importance of Being Bachman" foreword in later editions of the book, in which Stephen King spoils the ending.Sumez wrote:Wow. I had no idea it was even a Stephen King book.

The movie's fun, but the "dystopian killing gameshow" concept is the only thing it shares with the book. By its standard The Terminator could almost pass for an adaptation of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream.

There's no point reading the book once you know the ending. What the hell was King thinking.
Re: 2017's official theme song
The events of The Running Man actually take place in 2019.
