My recent CDTV and Accessories (almost complete): With Issue

Post by c0dehunter »

Hi all,
I recently picked up a slightly used Commodore CDTV, plus lots of accessories. Here are the pictures:

It came with the following items:

CDTV Mouse
CDTV Remote
CDTV Keyboard
CDTV Floppy
CDTV Trackball
CDTV Black Caddy

Additionally, the seller, also included the 'Pro' version box, which contains the following:

CDTV Floppy (brand new in the box with the silver sticker intact!) <--This is in addition to what came with the system!
CDTV Keyboard (Still in the pink plastic cover and the foams) <--This is in addition to what came with the system!
CDTV Mouse <--This is the same mouse that came with the system, but it is brand new with instructions and the plastic cover!

And finally it came with a Sony RGB monitor!

The CDTV system is in VERY good condition and it plays all the games and floppy diskettes that I threw at it last night, even the CDTV titles that I burned (Defender of the Crown 2, Xenon 2, etc.) worked flawlessly when the eject button was working, so I know that the laser component is still intact.

Issues:

1) The eject button issue

The CDTV eject mechanism has issues, and the caddy gets stuck most of the time: I have managed to take it out, but I am afraid to put it back in, as I opened the font panel and fiddled with it for about an hour. I have contacted the seller, and he is willing to help me to fix it however!

2) Trackball not working

Also the Trackball does not seem to work: I inserted brand new batteries, but it does not do anything.

3) I am not sure if this game specific or not, but using the CDTV remote, when I play a floppy game (The Naughty Ones, or a shoot'em up game), it always select the TWO Player mode, and sometimes the left, right, seem a bit stiff or stuck (In The Naughty Ones, the Player 1 is stuck to the right)[/b]

The Directional button in the Splash Screen seem to work OK however.

I paid $600US Dollars for the whole thing.

Was this a fair deal?
