I'm thinking about getting a bigger HDTV for my game room, but I have a lot of things that still need VGA that I'd rather not have to upgrade a bunch of other equipment for.
(Still have Dreamcast, XPC-4, and a XRGB3 on VGA).
I know most new HDTVs don't have VGA ports, do none of them? I'm looking for a 55", or maybe a 60" (absolutely no bigger than 60" because anything bigger won't fit).
Even if I find a 2014 model with VGA, it seems impossible to find them to purchase unless it's from some sketchy unknown online retailer, or used for some absurdly high price.
I've noticed there's also newer business displays meant for conference rooms or business advertisements that still have VGA, but some end up missing something else such as component (I need VGA, component, and HDMI)
One thing that also makes this difficult is even if I'm willing to try to get an older model, there doesn't seem to be any way to determine which had VGA other than looking up model numbers one by one. I'm hoping to find something for a reasonable price. I don't really want to pay something crazy like $1500 for a 1080p display.
Finding newer large HD displays with VGA (and component)?

Wouldn't a VGA to HDMI transcoder be sufficient? They should be lagless.

They are lagless if there is no scaling or rate conversion involved. A Dreamcast's signaling may not be in a range every TV is happy with.bobrocks95 wrote:Wouldn't a VGA to HDMI transcoder be sufficient? They should be lagless.

I had really good luck with projectors that accept VGA. There are many reasonable models out there that are quite bright and the costs have come down. You would, of course, then have to deal with installation and replacing the bulb when it blows.

Otherwise, you should go to an older tv. look on craigslist as people are constantly upgrading the age of panel with the vga on it at this point.
