Hello, everyone.
I'm new here, but I've been reading the forum for a while. I searched around, and I didn't see anyone talking about this, so I apologize if this has already been covered.
I have a Sony BVM D14H1U with one analog input card (BKM-129X). The card can accept RGB and Y Pb Pr component video, but it has only one set of INs and one set of OUTs. This is a problem for me, since I'd like to be able to send the monitor both RGB and Y Pb Pr simultaneously, without having to switch out the cables each time. I thought I was going to need to buy another BKM-129X input card, but no?
When I first got the monitor and was connecting everything for the first time, I accidentally connected the JP21 to BNC adapter to the OUTs on the input card. I didn't realize I'd done it because, strangely, it worked. When I moved the monitor to a new location, though, I reconnected it properly. But I wondered...if I connect Y Pb Pr to the INs and RGB to the OUTs, will it work? Huh. Yeah. It does. Maybe this is common knowledge, but for me, this was a revelation. Those analog input cards are getting expensive...
Long story, I know, but give this a shot and see if it works for you! Is there any reason I shouldn't keep things connected this way? Will I damage something running it like this long term? Thanks!
I accidentally connected the INs to the OUTs and it...works?
