Hi guys,
Does anyone have a service manual for a Sony PVM-20L4 monitor that they can share? Not the operation manual, but the actual service manual with circuit diagrams etc.
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a specific problem with yours then?

Thanks heaps, h1ghju1ce!
The first 20L4 has a minor issue whereby after it warms up, it makes a small zapping sound and the screen dims at the same time for a split second. It's not arcing and I've cleaned around the anode cap too. I'm not sure if it's a bad earth connection or a high voltage issue with the PSU.
With the second 20L4, the horizontal scanlines are unstable and move up and down a few lines constantly (imagine looking at a monitor that was mounted on top of a jack hammer and that's kind of what it looks like). Doesn't matter what input is selected, even with just the menu displayed it does it.
Have you seen either of these issues before?
Yes, I have two that have issues.h1ghju1ce wrote:

I've seen whole picture vertical "bob" where the image shimmers up and down slightly, but that only seems to happen with no inputs attached
as with about 90% of CRT issues, the answer is probably "a capacitor somewhere"

probably on the deflection card I'd guess

Frustratingly mine does this (or something very similar to it)

Its sitting in the garage unused until I can figure out what to do with it!

I was thinking of using a process of elimination and swapping boards between the 20L4's to help narrow down which caps on which board might need to be replaced. Not very scientific, but might save a lot of time.
