Well, I just brought a SONY PVM 20M2U and I can't figure out how how this thing works.
I don't have a scart to bnc but i own a KENZEI, which can convert SCART to RCA (RGBS).
I setup the kenzei to use the scart conector as input and I made my own bnc to rca adapters. I hookup R, G, B and sync and no luck.
Just shows no sync. On PVM i activated A/RGB and Ext Sync switches.
Try changing the SCART CSync mode select jumpers on the Kenzei. You'll also want to put a game in the console so that you can confirm you're getting any video signal at all.

It just change csync from input to output. CDX boots SEGA CD bios without cartridges.

And the SCART connector on the Kenzei is normally intended for output, not input. Perhaps it's a faulty assumption that the sync might need to be changed, but it's worth a try considering he's trying to use it in the reverse direction.
I believe you need to press the line RGB button as well once the RGB input is selected. I see the A/ RGB and external sync buttons lit up but not the line RGB one. Its been awhile since I used that model of PVM though.
I am no longer taking free or paid modding projects, please do not contact me asking for my services. Thanks .

Exactly. Since I want the scart connector as input, makes sense change all jumpers from output to input, but I will try this anyway.

Line RGB button pressed and the screen changed from solid black to solid red, is not a good sign, is it?
I can't even test composite video, looks like this PVM is busted, sadly

I'm thinking those cables you made are bunk.
Buy some RCA>BNC adapters from ebay. You can get 10 for 4 bucks or something, not a big deal at all. Then you can try hooking up a Wii with component, NES with composite, all kinds of stuff.

Cables are fine, unless the length is a problem. I tried to buy some RCA to BNC adapters, but I could not find any.
Guspaz wrote:at that point it would make more sense to get a SCART to BNC cable, rather than using the Kenzei as an adapter.
Agreed. The problem is that it will take 1 or 2 months to arrive
Tomorrow I will look for RCA to BNC adapters at other stores
I really wish to know if the solid red screen is ok, even with nothing connected.
Do you have a DVD player/NES/anything that uses a composite video signal that you can plug into one of the other inputs on the PVM to test it? It might be useful to try the "Line A" input with just one of the cables you made with a composite signal just to hopefully see something on your PVM to give you peace of mind.
I know we all love RGB but even just being able to use your monitor is better than nothing, plus if it does display a picture at least you know it works right?

I just brought some BNC to RCA adapters and nothing
I hook up a Xbox 360 and no video on composite, just audio.
Same thing on video component, no video just no sync.
No sure if I gonna find someone to fix it, probably is cheaper just throw on trash bin
Ripthorn wrote:Yes. Everthing Works fine, except the video inputs.
Then your monitor is probably fine, and you inputs are probably fine. There is just something wrong in the signal chain and you haven't figured it out yet. Don't throw out your PVM
