post your LED installations & let's talk programming LEDs

So do any of you have LED installations in your rooms/ cellar bars/ home cinemas etc.? If so, I'd love to see pics or preferably films of them running. I'm looking to pimp out ye ole gaming room/ attic and I'd love to see how you've done it.

Also, do any of you know anything about how to program LEDs? I've bought an LED strip with a sound controller, but I'm not expecting great things from the built-in mic, and from what I've heard/ seen, the sound controllers with a headphone socket don't fare much better; the LEDs simply won't much blink in step with the music. but right now it looks as if you only get good results by programming a DMX device. Any of you have any experience with this? Can anybody point me in the right direction re: simple tutorials for beginners, thanks.
