Phantasmagoria of F.V. -- FIXED music problem..!!

Post by Zweihander »

So, I went to an anime con, Reactor, yesterday. picked up Phantasmagoria of Flower View. Unfortunately my comp apparently isn't configured to play Japanese games, and though I installed the game (it gave me an error message; "cannot find.. etc..", but I installed it again in My Documents, and thus can play it), I can't hear the music. :( (otherwise it works fine) is there some sort of configuration I need to run this game and its music properly?

EDIT: as it turns out, I just suck. I popped in the disc again, and hit Explore... found a big-ass BGM file about 400mb. Copied that to the same folder, and-- viola!-- music. Bad-ass trance piano music, to boot! Brings me back to the FF6 boss theme. ^_^

If anyone has a problem similar to this with any Zun games, then well.. this'd be the thread to check out. :/

However, thanks SpooN-- you did help out. ^^

You have to change the language for programs that don't use UNICODE to japanese (requires reboot and japanese language pack). Then try running it, or try reinstalling it (don't know if you have to).
With the japanese setup some other programs won't run like for example C&C Generals it is good to use microsoft applocale to use PoFV with you normal language settings (otherwise you would have to restart everytime you use a problematic program).
Search for AppLocale at the microsoft page or with google, I'm too lazy right now (sorry).
I hope this works.
