How hard is it to change a pad config on a Megadrive Pad?

Post by neorichieb1971 »

I want to play Rick Dangerous on the Genesis, but it uses UP for jump. I want to create a joypad that will work just for this game where the UP is assigned to one of the buttons the game does not use.

I'd be willing to pay a fee for someone who could do the fix, i'm hopeless with such things.

Thanks for reading.

extremely easy. Cut two traces on the board, rewire them crossed, done. 5 minutes tops. You could add a switch as well - seems more reasonable than to have a pad exlusively with that mod.

Wouldn't a romhack be a better way to go? There have been so many games that were improved over the years through romhacks and maybe this is one that should be looked at next?

Thats what I really want. But I don't frequent forums where people tinker with things like that.

I'm assuming such a code change would be simple. I would like it in cart form if possible.
