PVM-3230 Service Menu?

Post by kuze »

Does anyone know how to access the service menu on a PVM-3230?

There is no 'Menu' button, so I tried pressing 'Display' to bring up the OSD with brightness/etc adjustments, then pressing the 'Enter' and 'Degauss' buttons at the same time; no dice.

Optimally if anyone has the service menu for this monitor that would be even better. :D

It turns out there is no service menu on this model, you must decase the monitor and manually adjust the pots to fix geometry. Thanks to daskrabs for the confirmation.

it still amazes me that they used to build electronics like this. Didnt they think that techs even would want to adjust that stuff?

ive seen a few old tvs that had holes in the case so you could stick a screwdriver in and adjust things without taking the back off.

I imagine they would have gone the OSD route all along if they easily could have. Analog pots are what were used for CRT monitor geometry adjustments since their advent.

It actually isn't too bad taking the case off of one of these though anyhow.

Its kind of stupid to put the pots on the back though. they could have put them on the Front.

I had a tough time adjusting an old arcade monitor one time because everything was on the back.

best thing they ever did with arcade monitors was come out with those Wired remote boards that have all the pots on them, that you can basically mount anywhere in the cabinet.
