SHMUP Master Video Series

Post by Aggro Sky »

A few years ago I started a channel with the goal of doing 1cc runs of SHMUPS on the hardest difficulty using only original hardware and HD capture devices. I capped runs of Whip Rush and Thunder Force 3, both on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. For Thunder Force 3 I actually did an entire "produced" video followed by the run itself. I posted the Thunder Force 3 vid here and got a very warm reception from the community, which I appreciated.

Well, life happened, among other things and I kept trying to get another video out and never seemed to be able to do it. Well, I finally did. Although it's more of a relaunch video with some mini reviews of SHMUPS I've been trying to 1cc for the past year or so. I figured I'd drop it here because some of you may enjoy it.

I have a 1cc run of Thunder Force 4 (on Maniac, recorded with a Framemeister) and a two player 1 cc run of Forgotten Worlds (with my brother) recorded also. I will release those runs in the next few months with produced videos to go along with them. Any feedback, thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nice to see some more videos coming.

You're now reading from a screen or something, right ? You didn't do that on your old video. Feels a little less personal now with your eyes moving so much.

Yes, I was reading from a piece of paper attached to the camera lol. This was my first attempt at Green Screen so I'll get better at it. My vid on Thunder Force 4 (will hopefully be out by the end of next month, I'll be out of town for 2 weeks in June) won't have as much. This update video was me sort of testing the waters and having fun. I also got a friend of mine in broadcasting to do the narration for the next vid.

Anyway, it was a rough year last year which is why it took me so long to get back to this. But I'm ready to go! Thanks for the feedback! :D
