picture problem with Sony BVM P2011P

Post by OlDirty »

Hi all

I just got a Sony BVM 2011P and my selfmade supergun (schematic looks like this http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id= ... e_supergun )doesn't work properly with arcade PCBs. My supergun works on a normal CRT TV without any problem, but on my Sony BVM the colors are way to bright and i have strange paterns rolling over the screen.
Here you see the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK_8TeC ... e=youtu.be

I use one of these cables https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/son ... 20monitors
and a normal scart cable which connects the supergun to the cable above. I also pressed the button Sync (int and ext), but it didn't help. I don't use any terminating resistors. I just have R,G,B,Sync cable connected to the BVM.

I also hooked up a Super Nintendo and a Sony Playstation 2 with an absolute superb picture.

Someone has an idea what could be wrong?

You need to use 75 ohm terminators on the out connectors, the monitor does not terminate to 75ohms automatically. The other consoles look fine because their rgb levels are much lower and you are able to turn down contrast and brightness to compensate for the lack of termination. The rgb levels on the arcade pcbs is much to high to do this however.

Also it looks like you have the rgb and sync cables connected to the out ports and not the in ports.
I am no longer taking free or paid modding projects, please do not contact me asking for my services. Thanks :).
