Quick question: old cables on Xbox S/E

Post by ChurchOfSolipsism »

So ye olde hacked xbox rrod'ed and I don't feel like trying to repair it myself in the near future. I could get a hacked Xbox S or E as a replacement. Thing is nether of them will come with cables, so now the question is whether I can use my old standard Xbox cables to connect an Xbox S or E to a monitor.

Also, and this is really important, my home built cab's monitor can only be connected via VGA. It looks like Xbox E's only have HDMI-out?

Thanks fellas!

The E model can output composite as well as HDMI but uses a different connector to earlier models (based on xbox support page diagrams). You cannot use your old 360 video cables with the E, so the S model is the best option if you need VGA.
