Hey guys, we just finished our first game, a late 80's style shmup, and would like some feedback/thoughts on it.
It's a top down vertical style shooter that pays homage mostly to Galaga '88, however a lot of the general design is reminiscent of the "NES style" shmups like Gradius or R-type. It features five main stages, with one secret bonus stage. It's got five different fighters to use, each with its own unique weapon. We hope it provides a decent (but fun!) challenge.
So here's a download link:

It should just allow anyone to grab the game for free. There's a demo which is sort of a prequel deal if you'd like to check it out first on our itch.io page: https://actuatorgames.itch.io/metis-one
Hopefully we've smashed all the bugs, but if you do find anything weird please let us know either in this thread or via email: marvin at actuatorgames dot com.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to look, and we appreciate any and all feedback you have to give.
Mostly, we really want you to have a good time playing!
The game is available on Windows, Mac and Linux, however we only have 64-bit versions. If there's a need for 32 we can make that happen, just let us know!
Our first game, Metis One, is complete! Come take a look!

I really like the color 3D pixel look. Good attempt on a Galaga remake. Any chance of doing a Lifeforce NES remake? That was my favorite classic space game.

Thank you for your response! Metis One is completely inspired by the classic schmups, and it's great to see that that comes through.
The next game in the development path is partially schmup, but it's also a hybrid with other types of gameplay. We'll keep you posted!
