Trying to remember a Shmup from the early 90s or so

I'm trying to remember a side scrolling Shmup I remember playing in the late 80s to early 90s. The main thing I can recall is that there were power ups you could get that would fly along side your ship as extra modules, to add as extra firepower (as you do) and you could also then launch those modules as missiles.

At least one level was in a jungle, and had some sort of missile launching enemy that was basically a pair of legs and a missile, and then, obviously, once the missile launched, it would just leave the legs.

I think it came as shareware preinstalled on the computer with Space Goose and Jumpman as well.

I read "robot legs" and immediatley thought of Mag Max.
