I now have, more or less, the whole front end apart for painting. Its kind of a pain in the ass, but it will be worth it.
The engine bay/compartment ,including the front area of the frame is painted white...to match the car.
The engine even got a few more chrome goodies since the above video!
The 350 4 bolt main block now has a "Timing Gear" installed rather that a chain.
The gears will "whine"...which sounds REALLY cool. (like a blower...think Mad Max or something)
The neighbors from across the street (two houses down) called the cops on me tonight....
I was painting the engine bay in MY driveway, and had a car cover over our other car, even covered my next door neighbors car with the same cover used for ole Chevelle SS, as I didn't want any over spray to land on it.
Anyway, were talking across the fucking street here now/ two houses away...the neighbors were concerened that the overspray would mist their precious house!!!
Get this, even the cop though that this was ridick-alick.
Oh well, I'll be at it again tomorrow morning...a little closer to my own garage, if not IN there.
If my house didn't get any overspay on it, then this neighbors a total shithead tejano lover masterpiece. Personally, I think he's a jealous middle aged hispanic guy who hates younger guys with cool cars. Aggghhh!!!! I'm not even that young!!!
He's got it "in for me" or something...as one time while I revved up into second gear while passing his house...leaving my driveway(about 4 car lengths away from passing my house) He shouted "AAAAAYE" I guess he thought I was hauling ass, but Hot-Rods sound loud anyway even though I didn't even hit 30MPH in that short distance. I didn't burn out, or chirp the tires or anything. Fuckin asshole!!
I'm expecting him to call the cops again when its time for the new motor start up. The car will sound similar to either a "jet boat" or a "monster truck", basically like Dragster!. I'll be nice though, I'll do it during the daytime.
I won't be able to take it out when its late, or I may wake the neighbors. (They should be used to it though. We all live about a footbal field's distance from a freight train!) PLus setting off car alarms is ALWAYS cool...ugh, sort of.
Video updates SOON!!!

Oh yea...just to give credit were credit is due, our new member (John72 Chevy) is helping me out a lot throughout my project. Thanks Trick!!!
He's not really that important though, as he doens't play shmups, BUT he digs Vodkatron, and is currently addicted to Warlords(4player) and multi BomberMan sessions, all because of me! I'm converting the world...one at a time.
BTW: "He didn't "made it"...

Ok,ok...lets leave this thread open for "cool cars" only.
Anyway, my good friend/airbrush artist just finished some AWESOME HEAVY METAL style skull art on my firewall. (engine area of car)
Pics will be available soon!!!
Circuit Face...eat your heart out man!!! The middle skull represents me and my anger towards that shithead who crashed into my car while I was in it(with two passengers) Fucking dude left town without paying me shit for the damage he caused. I'm still blessed with the help of my good friends though...of which none of this would be possible. (list of thanks/credits upon completion)
Nah, seriously, you'll love it!
My car will never be the same again...wish me well guys on my project...and God Bless. The Chevelle SS is getting closer to "show car" status.
If its going to be this good, I may even be afraid to drive it!!!

That's freakin' AWESOME Twitch! You should leave a flaming bag of dog poo on your neighbor's doorstep - that'll learn im'!
No really - you're cars the shizzy - and the skulls are very nice. I love airbrush work - especially when it looks like something you'd see painted on the haunted house at the state fair
Brings back memories...
Anyway - have you ever seen that movie The Burbs? You neighborhood reminds me of that - right down to your surly old man neighbor...

I've been driving ole Chevelle around a lot lately. Man, I get looks and stares everywhere I go. Its pretty cool. I even got a few "thumbs up"!
Just earlier today I set off my first car alarm. I was driving down a side street doing around 15 to 20MPH and all of a sudden, I hear an alarm that I set off from a parked truck!!!! Fuckin Aye! Thats pretty cool.
Oh and she stomps! Hit the gas a little too firm, and she will break loose on ya. Both tires will burn in a second if you don't let up!!
Overall, its great and I love it!
I just need more money to buy gas. Last week I pawned two home stereo speakers just to fill the tank.
Hopefully, I 'll be making a video of the car in motion. Also, even a short video from a cruise inside the car!
Its only a two seater now, so the video will allow anyone the chance to ride "shotgun".
Stay tuned...

Thanks!professor ganson wrote:TWITCHDOCTOR wrote:^ Actually, its a 68...but yea.I was worried that I might be off by a year or two when I wrote it. My appreciation of cars far outstrips my knowledge of them.
So your car is actually older than I am; better looking too.
Actually my car is only two years older tha me.

Weight should be around 3400lbs, as I removed some things that I didn't need.(stereo, back seat, hood, inner fender wells, heater and core,)landshark wrote:I wouldBloodreign wrote:Spiffy muscle car, hell no one will dare race you in that beast.I don't mind losing though as long as I can hear 2 V8's running next to each other; I love it.
What do you figure your RWHP is going to be? How much does your car weigh?
The trunk is clean and empty.
It should have at least 350 to 375 horse right now. I'm planning on getting some better racing heads that will boost things up to the neighborhood of 400 to 420-425ish.
I mainly have to perform some suspension mods and upgrdes, because the car will get the "shivers" at speeds. (body sway) It also feels like it floats at 80MPH...so its kinda dangerous to race it like it is now.
I'm planning on lowering it about two inches all around some time this month. That will help things out, as well as stiffen up the suspension.
Hey Landshark...
I've got a couple of gallons of racing fuel($8.00 a gallon) in there right now. I can slap on those slicks I have, and I'll see you in my rearview!!

Just kidding...I'm sure your 'Bird can move as well.
Hahah. I have a feeling my car is a fatass. I've only been adding weight to it and have done nothing for weight reduction. I don't plan on it either thought. I need my heater/ac. I need my back seats
I'm somewhere in the 340s I think right now, but my tires are in dire need of being replaced. They constantly break loose (i'm at the wear indicators right now) and while controlled fishtailing is blast - it sucks trying to race from a dig.
I've never tried racing fuel before. Highest octane I've had is 95 or 97 - found it at a truck stop of all places on the way back from Ohio.
You may see me in the rear view mirror - not sure how far behind I'll be though. But you'll also see a big smile on my face

I'm sure I'll be smiling too! Although, when I drive the "beast", I normally keep a straight serious face. Having no power steering helps keep that serious grin going!
I have to though...as people who stare think they're tough...I need to be even tougher!
Its not a "macho" thing...people either stare becasue they appreciate it, or they want to race for money/steal it.
Oh well, I hope you guys enjoy the updates as much as I will!!!

That was kind of a "low blow" John...Pacraps is a cool internet friend, and I'm sure in real life he's a good friend as well. I would welcome a good friend with a six pack any day!!!john72chevy wrote:maybe cause you don't have a badass car or know what its like to work on them...PaCrappa wrote:That fucking rules. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, its VERY similar to how I met you, and we've become good friends since that time...
Anyway, it was meant as a compliment(or at least I took it that way) no need to try and "put him in his place", know what I mean?
