Composite PAL:

RGB PAL:

The PVM identifies the signal as PAL.

Uh. Yes it should. From what I've read, a Wii set to PAL should not output YPbPr
The pinout is different from what I found online:ZellSF wrote:Uh. Yes it should. From what I've read, a Wii set to PAL should not output YPbPr
Bad cable would be my first guess. It's a lot more likely than something going wrong with the Wii hardware and only affecting PAL output.

How do you connect to your PVM ? Through a Scart to BNC adapter ? It's possible that your adapter doesn't grab all the possible ground pins, so it might expect ground on a pin that wasn't connected on your cable, while it wasn't accepting ground on a pin where it was connected after all. On a TV with a direct Scart input this isn't a problem since all the ground pins are connected anyway.Edit: I just pulled the ground pin out and connected it to the metal shield; now it's working perfectly. I don't understand why the official cable was wired like this. Any opinions?
Yeah, I use a Scart to BNC adapter. Thanks, that makes sense; I think you're right.Fudoh wrote:How do you connect to your PVM ? Through a Scart to BNC adapter ?
