Acclaim Bankruptcy - Darius Gaiden & Rayforce for sale

Post by Accutron »

Just saw this over at IC:

Anybody want to buy some publishing rights? The two titles that jump out at me are Darius Gaiden and Galactic Attack. The minimum offer is apparently $5000.

Burnout 2 publishing rights for $5000? Surely not...

Well, it's an auction. $5000 is just the minimum bid.

Does anyone know what's included with these publishing rights? Rights to publish the game within the US? Rights to the source code? Are they system-specific? Any right to using the license name to create another game?

I wouldn't mind owning both Rise of the Robots games. :P

My guess is they would be system and region specific, and only for the remainder of time left in Acclaim's contract with the licensor (Taito in the case of Darius Gaiden and Galactic Attack).

For Acclaim developed games, the story would probably be different.
