Does Swap Magic work on FAT PS3 for import DISCS?

Every time I try to research this topic its always threads or videos for people trying to play back-up discs/bootlegs, ie. using a USB stick with their loaded games on it. ALL I want to do is play my physically owned retail ps2 import discs on my ps3 with swap magic. Is this possible? What is the easiest way to do this if you only want to play the discs and not emu, or backups?

It works great with the ps2 and slide tool but i would like to retire my ps2 and free up media space...
