Can't say I have seen anything up to this point in the current gen that really excites me. As someone who plays games going back 7 - 35 years, across most major systems I am comfortable just exploring any I have missed or want to get into. I was recently contemplating that for the first time, I might actually sit this generation out as I have not been wowed enough and do not relate to most mainstream titles anymore.
Today I stumbled across a story that there will be a new Rez for the PS VR and I was like "now that would be something cool". Reading about some of the other VR games (Ace Combat, Golem, Valkyrie, Office worker game, 100 ft tall robot golf) I started thinking about what may be possible with VR. Could offer new ways of storytelling and interactivity not possible before. This might move me to possibly get a PS4 just for these new experiences as I would finally have the wow factor and something completely fresh instead of just better looking games I could play on 360 or PS3.
Might be too expensive or head down the road of Wii level of motion control gimmick overexposure but instead with the VR. Who knows? But I am at least paying attention now. Hopefully this does not turn into a hate filled bash-fest but what do you think?

Re: Playstation VR
As far as Summer Lessons getting released, get the VR!
Re: Playstation VR
Rez Infinite for PlayStation VR certainly looks tempting. It's one of my favorite games, and it seems like an excellent fit for the medium. BTW, the guy playing the demo on stage at the PSX Experience event was wearing a vibrating suit. Now that would be something.
Re: Playstation VR
Technically couldn't you already do this with Rez for PS2 and one of these:Bonus! wrote: BTW, the guy playing the demo on stage at the PSX Experience event was wearing a vibrating suit. Now that would be something.

That does not seem to compare favourably to this:Dave_K. wrote:Technically couldn't you already do this with Rez for PS2 and one of these:Bonus! wrote: BTW, the guy playing the demo on stage at the PSX Experience event was wearing a vibrating suit. Now that would be something.

I'm pretty excited, if not but just to try something new. I actually feel the same as the OP about current gen & am just now getting around to purchasing the new consoles.
Eve: Valkyrie is the only VR title I'm deeply interested in so far. The prospect of piloting a starfighter makes it an irresistible investment.

Godzilla was an inside job

Re: Playstation VR
While I have my doubts about VR actually working properly and being adopted en masse... I can see the potential. I'd love a Simulation Racing game, ala Gran Turismo/Forza in VR with surround sound.
VR might even get me into FPS games... if it's done right. Oooohhhh... or a TIE Fighter reboot....
