Has anyone played Aggressive Inline?
It's an awesome PS2/NGC/Xbox rollerblading game that I actually think is superior to the Tony Hawk games. It has insanely large levels, great music, good graphics, and extremely smooth control. It's also the game that got me into retro gaming. Are there any other great obscure games you think should be more well-known.

Re: Has anyone played Aggressive Inline?
I have not played it, but recently the title caught my attention when expanding the PS2 (or GameCube) backlog of mine. Went for 1080° Avalanche instead (even if those two aren't really much alike), yet Aggressive Inline has remained on my radar mostly due to it's Treasure-like, two-worded title (those are the best game titles, even if not always the best games).
Kirby Air Ride (Kirby's Airride in Japan) might be somewhat thematically related a game. One of my most-wanted 'Cube-onlies for a while, but I must show moderation somewhere.
Jak X not only isn't as revered as Crash Team Racing, but I still don't think Jak 3 off-road handling deserved a separate game as much as Jak 2 urban vehicular treat. X corrupted my memory card, too (to be on the safe side, play without one in a slot and put it in only to save manually).
That out of the way, visual resemblance between it and Scud Race I used to watch my pal play brought it home to me how much fun racers this fast, smooth and pretty can be. So I went on to purchase Burnout 3 and to this day such games are some of my most played kind. Most recently Motoracer Advance on GBA, but I doubt it quite belongs here as a touch too expensive and not obscure enough (as a franchise).
Sky Odyssey took me by surprise with just the tutorial by showing me: a) how fun "proper" flight sims can be and b) how arcade-y this particular one was (I found score-attacking much rewarding). Analogue controls must be enabled manually.
In this case, by "proper" I mean mostly separate yaw and pitch control as well as stalling.
It helped that Kow Otani's OST did a better in-game music job here than in SotC (I liked the latter's OST better listened to as the album than accompanying the gameplay).
Lost Kingoms (GameCube) - well, I've yet to complete it but obscure it still is for a From title and it seems like people either hoped for a 'Cube jRPG that it wasn't, or lost all the interest when told it was a card battling game.
In reality it's quite unlike anything else. If only I had someone to try 2 player out against...
Speaking of the latter, I got lucky enough to find someone to play Kuri Kuri Mix WITH me and it's another still-obscure From game like no other, this time in co-op.
I also keep namedropping Monkey Golf (much less famous than some other Super Monkey Ball minigames) as I like to think it captures some of the sport's essence (not ever having played the thing). Crazy good multiplayer too (read "easily enjoyable for about everybody... no matter how little interested in golf").
How could I forget Full Auto 2: Battlelines? Chugs in 1080p and the performance leaves a bit to be desired in 720p... and yet it's the exact kind of game I like to buy cheap and have tons of fun with. Another one I dearly wish I had someone to play against locally. I'm ignoring the Unwreck feature and it's all been playable so far.

I'm afraid the topic's bound to deteriorate into another "lists" thread at best, but speaking of little talked-about games which unexpectedly lured me to previously unexplored areas of gaming, two PS2 titles come to mind.atheistgod1999 wrote:It's also the game that got me into retro gaming. Does this answer your question? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOHxtOLfvIo
I don't remember much, since it was a good 13 or so years ago, but it was a pretty solid THPS wannabe.

Rolling is another obscure rollerblading gem on the PS2 that i'd recommend. It's a bit more realistic than aggressive inline i guess and has plenty of tricks crammed in there.atheistgod1999 wrote:It's an awesome PS2/NGC/Xbox rollerblading game that I actually think is superior to the Tony Hawk games. Re: Has anyone played Aggressive Inline?
I spent a lot of time playing aggressive inline, great game. Rolling was never actually released to my knowledge, but the iso is out there for xbox if you want to check it out. Was pretty stoked when these games were announced, being a rollerblader myself. Aggressive inline is the better game IMO, controls much better than rolling and more variety.
If you like thps, you will likely enjoy aggressive inline. Another game in a similar vein I spent a bunch of time with was Dave Mira bmx, bit finicky until you power up the player and get the hang of the controls, but great fun after that.
Although it makes me feel horribly old to hear aggressive inline called a retro game, ha. I was in my 20s when it came out. Ps2 era is not really what I would call retro, but you're 16 so I guess it is to you

I'm jolly sure Rolling for PS2 and Xbox PAL is real (not even that expensive at this point). Whether or not any of those is 60 Hz (and if not - PAL-optimised) is another story...
How's Evolution Skateboarding? Did the once-PS2 exclusive MGS2 missions make their way to the "HD" ports?

Re: Has anyone played Aggressive Inline?
Anybody knows if Aggressive Inline PAL 'Cube version does 60 Hz? I see a cheap copy. High chances are it does (the first Burnout released by Acclaim that year for Xbox and GameCube did), but some of you here might know better (the seller responded he has no idea).
Is the GBA version any good?
P.S. Aye, it's 60 Hz on GameCube (PAL), so I assume the same to be true for the other two consoles. Pretty elegant presentation I must say (ace game engine at that), so it's a crying shame how "me too" it feels from the word go. Clearly a plenty of effort was poured onto this one. Even the "coolness" doesn't seem as clumsily implemented as in Burnout 3: Takedown (one must wonder how the latter would have come out had Acclaim kept the franchise).
