this whole thread isn't worth it. nobody is going to spend time optimising score on a mode of play so easy even the absolute worst shooting game players (i.e. me) can 1cc it blind.

unlike something like the touhou easy modes, where you can get pretty insane scores, there is no real room for high level play in this mode.

Appreciate it. Don't remember why I have the starting power field anymore. Just thought it'd be interesting I guess. I keep thinking there's some kind of hidden bonus for starting with a particular power that just isn't public knowledge yet.

Does Novice somehow have twice as many points somewhere?

For anyone wondering, the point of this thread was Novice Ultra, which is absolutely not "a mode of play so easy" blah blah blah. Novice Maniac seems like a pretty alright little beginner thing too. I don't really care for Maniac and Ultra in this game though.

At any rate, Mushi Novice is not any less valid than literally all the other Novice modes in CAVE ports. The only reason I made a separate thread is because Aquas does not wish to add boards for Novice in his thread. I don't really blame him with all the autofire nonsense, and CAVE games kinda need multiple threads for any game with a billion modes anyway. Ideally Mushi would be split up like so:

-Thread 1: regular old Mushi + Novice
-Thread 2: Arranges + 1.5

Of course, nobody plays Mushi anymore, nor do they play any of these old games anymore to begin with, but whatever. 1.5 has a lot more scores than I expected, though. 1.5 is cool as fuck, so that's good.
