I recently purchased a Sony BVM-D14H5U off of ebay, and just received it. I'm having an issue with the picture; it seems to only display these vertical bands of alternating colors.
Any idea what the issue is? I tried Degaussing, but it didn't seem to make a difference. The menu won't show up either, so I can't really change any settings (don't think it's a settings issue anyways). I've already contacted the ebay seller, but just wanted to make sure it wasn't something trivial before I returned it.

Probably shipping damage. If you're lucky you may be able to fix it by adjusting the color purity rings at the neck of the CRT - the procedure should be described in the service manual. To do this you'll have to fiddle around with the insides of the CRT while it is turned on, so there is a considerable risk of electrocution if you make a mistake.
If you're less lucky, the aperture grille of the CRT has been dislodged during shipping. In this case the tube is unfixable.
