What do you believe is the best upgrade (note: imagine that your power is ideally balanced.)

More power at your disposal, but with a catch, such as charging, powerups, or unique mechanics. (example: absorbing enemies and then releasing them for huge damage

Ship upgrades

Post by Captain »

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the concept of your ship or character receiving a core upgrade at some point in the game.

I don't mean powerups, but rather something that changes how you play the game.

For example, Thunder force 4 with the craws and thunder sword, which adds a cool charge attack to your arsenal.

Sure, upgrades will also probably change your appearance and appearance of weapons, maybe even upgrade them a bit, but ideally a game should have consistent scaling difficulty, it isn't rare for enemies to quickly grow in power and take as much shooting with the upgrade as old enemies did before, as such, the direct powerup aspect of upgrades will not be mentioned here.

With the introduction/clarification over with, I'd like to see your opinions on what exactly this upgrade should ideally do.

As usual, vote away and don't question why I need this information. Or else.

And one vote for the main poll and one for the bonus please, as usual.
In search of great justice, sailing on a sea of stars.
