Space Mayhem 2000, A Close Combat Retro Spaceship Video Game

Post by EmYiKay »

First of all, i'm sorry for my bad English, since it not the language that I used in my everyday activity.

So, Space Mayhem 2000 is a 2.5D vertical Shoot ‘em Up and fighting video game set in a colorful, stylistic 1950-1960 sci-fi universe for PC. You, the player, control a spaceship that fights another spaceship using lasers or doing a series of close combat moves. You could fill a special meter (the yellow bar) by inflicting damage to the enemy. When the player successfully fills up the meter, he can initiate a special attack that does more damage than basic attacks. You also need to keep track on the blue bar that limit you from using long-range weapon and shield for too long.

What you seen there is just the concept art of this project, which is a individual Bachelor Degree project made by a 3D artist (that's me, for those who wondering  ).

Unfortunately, I might not going to make it into a videogame, since my lecturer wants me to just make the prototype of the game, not the playable version of the project.

But, if you could help me make this into a game, and convince my lecturer to made this made into a video game, then there's a chance for it to become an actual videogame.

How, you ask?

Thanks for taking your time to look at my project.
Comments, critique, and feedback are all welcome!

I couldn't for the life of me find "United States of America" or any alternate form of it in the "select your country" option. Ended up choosing UK because I might be a distant descendant of the original colonists or something? Idk.

Anyway, this looks interesting. I hope you refine and pursue this project further.

Whoops, sorry about about that, I going to fix it now.
And thanks for the support, I appreciate it!

EDIT: I've added "Other countries" as a option on that question, since I can't change the answer on it for some reason.

Space Mayhem 2000 Update (08/27/2015)

Post by EmYiKay »

NEW UPDATE!!!
I've put 3 new concept art to show you a game mechanic called Limit Break.

Limit Break is a yellow-colored meter that unlock special attacks, which can be used with basic attacks. It also deals more damage than the basic attacks, or even a series of it.

You could also use it to get a special KO screen, by using Limit Break for the final blow on your enemy.

Here's 2 other concept art:
