XSELECT-D4 DEFECTIVE

Post by akumajo »

I bought another XSELECT-D4 (used) and it does not works :(.
I perfectly know how to use this device since I already have one.

The PSU is fine (it works with my other XSELECT-D4).
I can power on and power off the device but nothing is displayed (no menu, nothing) so the problem must be inside.

I opened it and I saw some leak on 2 quartz.

So if I buy new quartz and change them it should works right ?

Where can I buy them (Europe if possible) ?

I saw this http://www.gmelectronic.com/quartz-hc49 ... z-p131-045 , is it correct ?

Quartz infos : 4.000 MHz SPK A2

Thanks.

That isn't a leak. It is solder. I just recapped one of these for a friend and noticed this on his. Its just some odd soldering.

I'd suggest recapping the whole thing. It didn't solve all my friend's problems, but it did improve the picture quality and I suspect it could be the issue with yours. Its worth shot at least.

Good luck!
