OK, are the infantrymen in the game actually cyborgs/robots made by the aliens? Just wondering while browsing the very humorous Neo CD Metal Slug art gallery and there is an "anatomy" pic of an infantryman with springs and doohickeys sticking out of his eyes and head. I know the games are supposed to have rediculously intricate stories.
Much of that artwork is merely concept art... and doesn't necessarily reflect what made it into the final game. Example: the original player 1 character was a younger male and the player two character was female.

Gotcha. I will add that Neo CD Metal Slug on PSP is amazing.
