Jamma-fying a JVS Cabinet

Post by brandon.arnold »

Hi all,

Has anyone gone through wiring a Jamma to JVS harness into the Sega Net City cabinet (or related cabinets Naomi Universal or Sega New Net City)? Can you recommend a harness on Ebay or some other vendor? I have seen ready-made harnesses for Blast City and such. I understand the Naomi to JVS board is very good and convenient, but it is pricey and I think I'd prefer to use only passive components if possible.

The pie-in-the-sky goal would be a very convenient set up, so I haven't got to take the cabinet fully apart to switch from JVS to Jamma and vice versa.

The cabinet is in good shape with original hardware. It's a tri-sync monitor (Naomi MS-2931), and the I/O to USB board, audio amplifier, and cabinet layout seems identical to related cabinets (Naomi Universal Cabinet and Sega New Net City).

This harness seems to connect into the I/O board or something, but there seems to be a number of connections missing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181799160784?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

This harness (and others on Ebay like it) seem closer, with no DB15 for the monitor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-wiring-har ... 540fb94116

Thanks,
Brandon
