Best Setup PAL GC/N64/PS2 (RGB)

Hello guys.
I've been lurking this forum in the dark since a few months.
This forum is very interesting and I am now ready to ask the good questions

I just moved in a bigger flat and I can now have my own game room.
I still had a CRT TV in my cellar and I hooked up my GameCube, N64 FRA RGB modded and my FAT PS2 on it.
All these consoles are PAL ones. However I play some NTSC Games on my Gamecube and some PS1 and PS2 NTSC games on my PS2.
All of these are connected to the TV via a MadCatz RGB switch.

Unfortunately, the TV is making a permanent piercing sound which is very annoying.
Furthermore, the image is not centred on the TV. I have a black bar on the right of the screen and I can't see about 2-3 cm of the game on the left side.

So...

I was looking for a good way to play those games on a flat TV.
Here are my questions.

• Which setup do you recommend ?
  Is the Framemeister Mini lag (~20ms) noticeable ?
  Is the RGB3 (with less lag) recommended for PAL games ?
  Do I have to purchase more than the Framemeister XRGB mini due to PAL console and N64 FRA signal ?
  Which TV do you recommend ? I know about the display-lag website but is this reliable ?

I already played the GameCube on a friend's flat TV and Double Dash was unplayable. There was too much lag that you couldn't even turn properly. It was hooked directly to the TV' SCART connector.

the combination of a XRGB unit and a selected LCD that's suitable for gaming.

running 50Hz sources through a XRGB-3 is complicated. The Mini is perfectly fine with PAL sources.

you need the proper Scart to MiniDin adapter cable to use your existing RGB cables.

Which TV do you recommend ?

a 2014 Sony W8 model.

yes, but you have know how they get their results. HDTVtest.co.uk is good for reviews on European models including lag.

that's different from person to person and can't be answered like that.

I remember watching a video where a guy tested the Framemeister on several displays and happened upon one where the 240p test suit manual lag test nailed a flat zero when he tried it. Personally for me, even though my display adds in another 60ms lag, I really can only just BARELY notice it on timing-sensitive games (i.e. fighting games).

I'd say only a select few twitch-monkeys in the entire world could notice 20ms lag by itself anyway.

So if I sum up, I better choose a framemeister XRGB mini in addition with a low lag input flat TV.

That said, I don't need a huge screen.
Correct me if I am wrong but .. if screen is big, you game will be more pixelated. Am I right?
I don't play far from TV and I think don't need more than 30 inches.

I have a budget around 300€. Can I also use a monitor with internal speakers?
What are you recommendations?

30-32" represents a gap. The 32" Sony TVs are not as fast as the bigger ones. Good (and fast) monitors are easily available up to 27". Fast gaming TV sets start at 42". For monitor recommendations we got a few other threads here on the board.
