Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol 1 PS2 screen problem

I have tried this game which comes with Strikers 1945 I and II and there's a big margin at the bottom of the screen so the image doesn't have the right aspect. This problem doesn't happen with Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol 2 (Segoku Ace and Tengai). My PS2 is PAL and I have not had any problems like this with other NTSC releases.

The PS2 Strikers pack is really screwed up in general, AFAIK (all regions)... not least by it using the existing PS1 ports instead of the arcade games. Standards improved greatly for the latter two Psikyo discs. I have those but went with Saturn/PS1 for Strikers I & II respectively.
