Line doubler information

I am looking for a line doubler on ebay and I need to know which one has zero input lag and can be bought in modern day. Does anyone know what one to buy?

Basically the only lag-free (usable) line doublers are the older XRGB units, but at the trade-off of "cheap" 480i deinterlacing.

I am looking for this one reviewed on retro gaming hazard. The guy claims it's fast and noisy. Which is exactly what I'm looking for but they don't exist anymore.

I currently own the XRGB mini. But with my Panasonic 60 led having lag at over 70 ms with no game mode available and my mini with 23 to 30 ms, I can feel the difference when I play Mario 3 on my nes and when I play on my CRT it feels liquid smooth.

Which previous model of XRGB would be comparable to this zero lag device?

If you're coming from a Framemeister, your only option is another XRGB. Everything else won't satisfy you.

The XRGB-2 and 3 are good options. If you want to REPLACE your FM and don't mind spending a little more money. Think about a XRGB + DVDO combo. This way you get FM quality, even higher flexibility at very little more lag.

Awesome I have been reading your page for months now. Your article was one of the reasons I didn't tell my wife that I spent over a grand on a bunch of classic video game av equipment.

If I was solely after speed would I get the model 1 or 2? And also the only extron model I could find is this one on ebay.

I have the vga to multi bnc and s video would be perfect for my Panasonic 3do console. But I am after no lag most importantly.

Also on a personally curiosity. Do people donate all those devices you review or do you just have a killer personal collection?

If your Panasonic LED LCD has over 70ms of input lag, getting something quicker than the XRGB-mini isn't going to help you a whole lot. Getting a different TV would make the most difference at this point. The W900A and W950B from Sony both have only about a frame of lag in game mode (17/19ms).

Is anybody familiar with the Extron System 4LDxi?

It comes with a line doubler that you can disable. My question is, does it add any lag in passthrough mode? If not, this would be a nice device for switching four inputs with an integrated RGB shifter.
