Hey shmups,
I've lurked for a long time and now I've finally joined the crt club.
I bought a BVM 20F1U from ebay, it was shipped from the west coast to the east coast. It came a few days ago and due to work I could not check the monitor until today.
The monitor turned on well and I could go into settings. I plug in my Sega Gen 2 with scart to the scart -> BnC adapter. The image constantly moves and is making me regret the purchase.
1. Is it the cables or the tv thats the problem? Is it a sync problem?
The picture is fine in the menu but when I turn on the Sega Genesis 2 its very distorted.
2. After messing with the settings I turned off the monitor to take a break and then returned however the monitor won't turn on anymore. The OVER LOAD light comes on and then the monitor shuts off. What can I do to get it back on?
My research tells me that I should reseat the cards in the back. It has an RGB card and 21D, however I loosen the screws on the top and bottom but it won't come out, is there a method to do this? I'm trying to take the 21D out first.
I would like to post pictures but can't since I'm currently away. I did post many pictures in this thread however. I'm trying to get as much help as I can.
THANK YOU!

Ok so I got the bvm back on and out of Over Load.
But the problem of the sync still exists.

Here are my settings

Also I tried the sync button and it has gotten me to atleast see some of the game running but then goes back to look like the above gif after a few seconds.
I'm using a Sega Genesis 2 to Male SCART and then a Female SCART to BnC adapter to the BVM

some monitors have a setting to select either component or rgb from those inputs.
if the wrong one is selected it wont sync.

His monitor is clearly set to RGB and external sync though so how can that be the problem?

It's likely the missing BNC termination plugs on the RGBs loop outputs.

thanks for the replies and help in advance, I just tried it with termination plugs 75 ohms but no luck. Also I managed to try it with composite and the composite board works perfectly. If composite works and the monitor works would it be the cable?
Also my SCART cable is apparently composite video sync, could that be a problem? My connection is Genesis 2-> SCART Composite Video Sync-> SCART to BnC -> BVM
