Thought this might come in handy for anyone, users and devs alike, to sort out any joystick-related problems with GM or at least figure out on whose end the real problem lies! I've seen a few cases in the past here of people getting messy performance because joystick_exists wasn't being checked as an example.
Here's a screenshot of what my Xbox 360 Controller looks like (through XBCD). It's not pretty but it's informative. The joystick name is probably never going to change but I thought it best to check ALL vars, you never know.
I think it'd be great if everyone that has a joystick or gamepad, whether it be run-of-the-mill or obscure, post a screenshot (by hitting F9 in the window) of what the screen looks like. For GM:Studio users/developers you can still make use of this too but I'll also make a version that uses the new gamepad device commands later on, which if memory serves me right (it probably isn't) can provide *even more* information.

I got 60fps too, then quit the application and launched a GM game right after. I then got ~40fps, lol. After a couple of minutes (dicking around in the game's settings) the fps had been raised to a solid 60 instead. Quit the game and restarted it, got 60fps immediately. Not sure what's happening. 98% of the time, I'm just using keyboard, and never go under 60fps.
I'm curious to see what screenshots of the utility on your cabinet look like with this thing, emphatic. I gather this is the custom JAMMA control board on the cabinet of yours?

Sorry to disappoint, I used my arcade stick. And if I had used the controls in my cabinet, I would still have interfaced it with my laptop, so not much sexier...
