Pvm2950qm troubleshoot

Post by Relion »

Hi everyone,

Just got me two sony pvm2950QM screens. Tried to hook them up with my snes, ps2 and a dvd player through a RGB scart BNC cable. Displayed images on both screens are jumping, flickering etc. Basically everything except a stable picture...

Any help on how to fix this or any clues on what I'm doing wrong is very welcome! Please see image as reference:

Thanks!!

Looks like a sync problem. See if you can dig in the menus and switch how it gets sync. You probably want something like external sync or EXT SYNC. Also, is it set to RGB and not something like Component? Sometimes they can use the same connectors and you have to switch it in the menu.

Thanks McCracAttack, Unfortunately there is no menu option for ext sync, the manual explains that the external sync switch should go automatically on these models. The control panel is switched to line3 (RGB Line) and "RGB" button is activated...

Did you connect the sync signal to the "HD/COMP" or the "VD" connector? Is anything plugged into the other one? (an otherwise unconnected BNC-to-whatever adapter does count as "anything plugged" here)

Yes did all of that correctly, hooked it up to HD/Comp and when that didn't work tried the VD as well. Just found out that more people with 2950's experience this problem. Hooking it up with a lm1881 does the trick for most people. Ordered one of those Lm1881 installed rgb scarts to see if that will help. Will post the outcome of this.

Thanks for the replies!
